The deal

Why it costs you nothing.

Connecticut pays battery owners to send stored power to the grid on its busiest summer afternoons, through Energy Storage Solutions, the state’s battery program run by Eversource, UI, and the Connecticut Green Bank. It pays more in towns the state lists as underserved.

Flip owns the battery and earns those payments, which cover the hardware, installation, and upkeep. You get whole-home backup and pay nothing.

What you get

Backup power, at no cost.

Whole-home backup

When the grid goes down, your battery kicks in automatically. Your fridge, lights, heat, and Wi-Fi keep running.

Nothing to pay

No monthly fee, no installation fee, no down payment. Flip pays for the battery, the install, and the upkeep.

A reserve just for you

Backup always comes first. Flip keeps a reserve in your battery, and the program aims to cancel events before a forecast storm.
